a short get-away

before the photos from my southern thailand trip get pile up with dust, i shall share them over here.

DAY 1
we set off at about 9pm from malaysia. for your info, we were on a coach. the journey to thailand border took us a whopping 12hours!!

i drifted in/out of my sleep throughout that night. it was freaking cold lah, and it does not help by wearing berms.
=(

the next morning, i was greeted by the awesome paddy fields in kedah.

i had prata for breakfast before crossing the notorious malaysia-thailand border.

land of smiles.. here we come!

the streets look like how singapore was in the 60s..

the number plate read alien to me..

and i spotted doraemon there!

more shoots of the streets..

our 1st stop in thailand was the bird nest restaurant.

bird nest seems like a very cheap thing over there. i had it for almost everyday! what a luxury uh..

next up was a local specialty shop. nothing fancy me.

but mum looked rather happy with the basket..

lunch was very local.. surprisingly, i quite like it!

visiting the temples is a must-do in thailand..

it was an early dinner as we have a show to catch later the night.

the infamous cabaret aka 'ah gua' show!

can't wait for the curtain to be raise.

all the 'gers' were so chio.. expect the one below..
puke~

if i were to meet any of them on street, i am really not able to differentiate them from the real woman. i bet the quality of 'ah gua' in changi v never a match to those in thailand. haha..

DAY 2
views from my hotel room.

breakfast was at the hotel lounge.

my hotel.

not forgetting a picture in front of the hotel lobby.

sight-seeing was the main agenda of the day.

up on a hilltop with temples.

view of Hatyai city..

ok, i cannot resist ice cream.. especially wall's.. my childhood's craves!

this statue was huge! and its kinda famous even in singapore..

i love horse..

so do mum..

lunch was seafood, again. =(
now you see it..

now u don't!

we headed over to Songkhla.

they have nice stretch of clean beach.. but nobody is making good use of it.

there was this mermaid that everyone want to have a picture.

alot of 'beachside hawkers'.

we went to take the tram that goes up the hill.

i got the lucky ticket!

the view from atop was fabulous!

as we made our way down, i saw this motorbike.

the dog was so stylo lah!

dinner was at this buffet restaurant on the 33th storey.

its was mum's birthday the following day, but we have to check-out by then. so i quietly prepared a mini-surprise for her..

swensens ice-cream cake!

i have to admit i chose the wrong timing, mum was in the midst of packing her bags. her couch look so 'colourful' with all her barang.

thanks to aunt ting for helping me with the surprise.

Happy Birthday Mum! its an unique experience to celebrate in a foreign country.

remember i mentioned we took a 12hours coach to thailand, now we have to repeat the same journey by spending another 12hours to get back to johore bahru. -_-"

but, we were lucky to have a rest at this famous satay eatery. its located somewhere near KL.

they serve delicious satay.

its was said to be the same size as your finger!

mum and me stayed for a night at aunt ting place.

their chiwawa is so adorable!

i looked bloated in this photo..

finally, its time to go home..

nice trip, unique experience. but minus the time-consuming coach ride which was highlighted numerous time inside this entry.
